In July 2021 we visited Finca Soñada. Finca Soñada is Spanish for dream house and that is what Luc and Valérie have made of it here in the green hinterland of Valencia and Alicante. It is a lovely green place with all comfort and facilities. The Finca is located in a park-like environment with various terraces to relax. The wonderful nudist beaches on the Costa Blanca are nearby.

In Finca Soñada you can enjoy a stay in complete tranquility, the concept is “Adults Only”. Everyone should feel free here and young people from 16 years old are welcome here. Because of the small scale and the quiet environment, this is not the right place for children. Unwind completely on one of the numerous terraces and enjoy the beautiful swimming pool and the garden, or rent the wood-fired sauna and also wood-fired jacuzzi for a few hours of relaxation.

All rooms of this Bed and Breakfast are equipped with good beds and have air conditioning and heating. They have a spacious, private bathroom with hairdryer, shower and toilet. Particularities
• The nearest naturist beach is approximately a 50-60 minute drive. For example, in 50 minutes you are in Gandía, where large wide sandy beaches with all kinds of facilities can be found. Dénia (with more than 20 kilometers of beach) is just over an hour away and is beautifully situated at the Montgó Natural Park. Or: combine the Valencian beaches with a visit to this beautiful city. In addition to the many official nudist beaches, you can also take off your clothes on numerous small beaches without a rooster crowing.
• What we really liked is that it also cools down nicely in the evenings in the summer months, which makes sleeping with the windows open a pleasure.
• Guests in Casita La Sonrisa can make use of the breakfast service for a fee of €10 per person per day.
• You can fly into Alicante or Valencia airports, both airports are just under an hour’s drive from the Finca, a
We therefore recommend a car for this location.
• We can also recommend the Finca in combination with a city trip to Alicante or (booming) Valencia.
• Do you like (mountain) walks or mountain biking / cycle racing / cycling / running, then this area is one where you can indulge yourself. Luc and Valérie are also fans of these sports and can help you choose beautiful trips.

Finca Soñada is located in the Costa Blanca, which means white coast. The main places on this coastline are Valencia and Alicante. You can combine a stay here with a city trip to Valencia. The Costa Blanca has approximately 74 beaches. The name Costa Blanca was probably coined by an airline that started with flights between London and Valencia. From the air you can see the many white beaches and it was a nice slogan at the same time. Another reason for the name is the exuberant almond cultivation (trees with pink-white blossoms) in the past.

There are many tourist places on the Costa Blanca such as Benidorm, Denia, Jávea and Calp.

A stone’s throw from Finca Soñada are beautiful natural areas. The mountain Benicadell behind the Bed and Breakfast, the natural parks Sierra de Mariola and Sierra de Font Roja with their beautiful flora and fauna.
For example, you can enjoy a picnic at the waterfalls, a 10-minute drive from Finca Soñada. Or you can walk to the Albufera of Gaianes, a protected lagoon known for its biodiversity, including birdwatching and unique endemic turtles.

The Natural Parks
Not 1, not 2, but 3 beautiful nature parks in the immediate vicinity.

1. Parque Natural de la Sierra de Benicadell

The Sierra de Benicadell is within walking distance of the Finca Soñada. The top of this calcareous mountain is at 1,104m. From its flank you have a breathtaking view of the valley of Albaida. A real hidden gem for climbers and hikers.

Be sure to stop at Font Freda along the way, a small town known for its healthy spring water.

2. Sierra de Mariola Natural Park

With over 17,000 hectares, Sierra de Mariola is the largest protected nature reserve of the three. It is characterized by the many streams and waterfalls. The landscape consists of mountains and valleys. The highest mountain is the Montcabrer with a height of 1,390 meters.

Flora and fauna lovers will certainly get their money’s worth here. There are many pine trees, but also about 1200 flower species. In addition, the stone marten, the wild boar, the fox and the badger are also found here.

3. Parque Natural del Carrascal de la Font Roja

With around 2200 hectares, this protected nature reserve is a lot smaller, but just as special. It is the only natural park with Mediterranean forest. It includes the mountain ranges of El Alta and the San Antonio. Here you can also find a rich flora and fauna and you can enjoy hiking, trail running. There are marked routes from 2 to 6.5 kilometers, with a duration of 45 minutes to 2.5 hours.

The use of natural resources by man is clearly visible here: from old lime kilns and Masías (farms) to “snow pits”, where ice used to be stored.

The “Via Verdes”, follow the trail…

“Via Verdes” are former railways that are now used for cycling or walking. They can be found throughout Spain and therefore also in this area. Several can be found, such as Via Verde del Xixarra III, Via Verde de Alcoy and Via Verde del Serpis. The latter takes you from Alcoy to Gandia on the Costa Blanca coast.

Cycling, mountain biking, climbing, horseback riding, …

The area is known for its many beautiful mountain bike trails. Road enthusiasts will also get their money’s worth. There is a good reason why top cyclists such as Mathieu Vanderpoel, Remco Evenepoel and Greg Van Avermaet visit these regions every year to train!

But climbers and horse riders will also enjoy this beautiful region.

Specialties:
In Spain on the coast it is common to eat in tapas bars, especially in summer. Of course there is also a wide range of seafood restaurants along the coast. Recommendations are: fish soup with shellfish and mayonnaise, gazpacho (cold tomato soup with garlic). Naturally, fish and shellfish are often on the menu here. Tasty fish, also on the grill, are dorada and sardines.

Language:
Spanish is the official language. Thanks to tourism, it is often easy to speak English or German.

Currency:
Spain is a member of the European Union. As a result, the official means of payment is the Euro. You can withdraw money with almost any debit card and most credit cards are also accepted.

Climate:
The Costa Blanca has a Mediterranean climate. Little precipitation, but all year round and lots of sunshine. Benidorm is probably the most popular city for winter visitors. You don’t have many extremes on the Costa Blanca, so it doesn’t get above 40 degrees quickly and the winters are often mild and dry. Of course there are exceptions. Because Finca Soñada is located a bit inland, it can be nice and cool at night in the summer months.

On December 21, we received the following assessment about Finca Soñada:

You are doing yourself a disservice as a naturist if you don’t stay at Finca Sonada with Valerie and Luc once. A small-scale B&B on a beautiful estate near the village of Gainanes, surrounded by mountains.
Warm, cordial welcome by the Belgian couple. We stayed for over a week in ‘El Sotillo’, a spacious semi-circular room with a large terrace.
Every morning Valerie provided a delicious, diverse breakfast with fruit from the garden. And when we wanted, we could sit down for dinner in the evening. Well, that tasted wonderful.
There is also a good restaurant in the village – within walking distance.
Although in mid-December we had 4 days of plenty of sun and good temperature. Enjoyed reading on the newly laid lawn. The sauna and hot tub were top notch from where you have a beautiful view of the mountains. A beautiful swimming pool, tennis and petanque court make it a fantastic location.
The days when the weather was bad we went hiking in the mountains, eg on the old railway to Gandia. Or a visit to the local wine maestro.
We are very happy to have discovered Finca Sonada and their proud owners!
