Grand Lido Negril is located on the island of Jamaica.

Jamaica is the third largest country in the Antilles (after Hispanolia (Haiti and Dominican Republic) and Cuba) and the largest of the English-speaking Caribbean islands. The abundance of tropical vegetation, the refreshing waterfalls, the beautiful white beaches and the “reggae feel” make Jamaica a fascinating whole. Near the town of Negril, we have a luxury All-Inclusive Resort for naturists called Grand Lido Negril.

The luxury All-Inclusive hotel  Grand Lido Negril is located about a 1-hour drive from Montego Bay Airport near Negril on the world-famous Bloody Bay on the west coast. Located in northern Negril at Booby Cay, this Bay is one of Negril’s most picturesque beaches.

Sunset Ocean View Suite  
Fully equipped living/bedroom with King bed or 2 Queen beds. The rooms have sofa, coffee table, Sat. Presidential 2-room Ocean View Suite
This Luxury Penthouse is equipped with every convenience. You really have a sense of a lot of privacy here and you have a private Jacuzzi on the roof terrace. There is a spacious sitting room with sofa bed and second guest bathroom. Fully equipped bedroom with King size bed. The rooms have sofa, coffee table, Sat. TV, radio/cd player, safe, iron, telephone and air conditioning, kitchenette with stocked minibar and coffee maker, fully equipped bathroom including separate toilet, double sink, Jacuzzi bathtub, rain shower and hair dryer. Besides from your living room, you can also watch the sunset from your private terrace.

Particularities: 
– Children are not allowed here.
– As a naturist, you may also use all the facilities in the textile area.
– You do not have to pay tips, as everything is included.
– It is possible to get married at the resort.
– Evening wear is desired in many restaurants; sometimes reservations must be made.
– At the reception you can book various excursions.
– Club MoBay Service: there is a lounge at the airport where you can already check in and be provided with a drink.
– In winter it is 6 hours earlier than in the Netherlands and Belgium, in summer it is 7 hours earlier.

The island is approx. 235 km. long and avg. 65 km. wide, the surface is approximately 11,400 km2. This is about a quarter of the Netherlands.

In Arawak (Indian) people speak of Xayamaka. This means forest and water.

The Jamaican people are generally very poor and depend on tourism. Here they do everything for hair braiding, driving taxis and selling souvenirs. If you just handle this in a friendly manner, you will not be bothered by this.

On the side of the island where Grand Lido Negril is, you will also find the Roaring River, this is a spectacular river that flows several miles underground before becoming visible above the ground. Visitors cannot enter the caves without guidance from the Roaring River Citizen Association. This is a beautiful excursion.

Time difference
It is 6 hours earlier in Jamaica than in the Netherlands; when we have daylight saving time: 7 am.

Language
The official language of Jamaica is English, but Jamaican Patios is spoken all over the island.

This is a combination of English and words derived from various West African languages.

Currency
The local currency is the Jamaica Dollar (JMD). You may not import or export the JMD. It is therefore best to take US Dollars with you. You can pay on the spot with this and these can be exchanged for Jamaican dollars, it is more favorable to pay with JMD. Upon arrival, you may be required to state the amount entered.
Euro checks and giro payment cards are not accepted.
In Jamaica you can pay with a cash machine with a CIRRUS code. It is also possible to pay with a Mastercard and Visa.

climate
On the coast, Jamaica has a tropical climate and in the mountains there is a moderate climate.

The island has no clear differences between the seasons. The Jamaicans never speak of summer, winter, fall or spring, but give the seasons other names, such as the mango season (May-July) and the sugar cane season (October-January). In the periods May to July and September to November it can rain heavily, but the showers are usually short-lived. Hurricane season is from August to October, but the last hurricane was in 1988.
