Off the coast of Croatia, near the small village of Vrsar, there are a number of islands, one of which is the cradle of naturism on the Adriatic coast: Koversada.

Koversada is not only the first but also the largest naturist resort in Croatia. In 2021 Koversada celebrated its 60th anniversary! Despite the many guests, you will still find its own quiet place to sunbathe and relax. Koversada consists of a main part with a connection to the island, from which the site takes its name, and the settlement ‘Blesicka’. Koversada is located at the entrance to the Limfjord, on the other side you can see Valalta. The beach of a total of 120 ha. large terrain is approximately 5 km. long and rocky like everywhere else in Istria. We therefore recommend that you bring water shoes.

At Koversada we know very simple homes, namely Pavilion A based on bed and breakfast and more luxurious apartments with their own kitchen. All houses have a terrace or balcony with garden furniture.
The apartments are located in the settlement ‘Blesiçka’, located on the mountain, some of which have a view of the Limfjord.

Off the coast of Croatia, near the small village of Vrsar, there are a number of islands, one of which is the cradle of naturism on the Adriatic coast: Koversada.
Vrsar itself has kept its appearance as a small fishing town, however, around Vrsar a modern vacation destination has emerged with hotels and restaurants. Off the coast of Vrsar are 18 uninhabited islets covered with rare Mediterranean plants.
Tourist parties are organized several times during the summer months on the riva (quay) of Vrsar. Lovers of tasty food and drink can choose from several dozen eateries and restaurants in Vrsar and surrounding villages.

Specialties of fish and seafood, specialties of Istrian cuisine and game dishes are offered with the accompanying house wines.

Language:
In addition to Croatian, you can get along well with English, German or Italian in the tourist areas. Along the coast, a dialect similar to Venetian is spoken. Croatian language belongs to Slavic language family.

Currency:
The official currency of Croatia is the kuna (kuna = 100 lipas). Most stores also accept euros. From Jan. 1, 2023, the euro will be introduced in Croatia and you can simply pay with euros everywhere.
Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, post offices and most travel agencies, hotels and campgrounds.
In larger towns you can go almost everywhere with Traveler Checks and credit cards. You can also ‘pin’ in the larger places. Always have enough cash. In some areas, banks and post offices are scarce.

Climate:
Croatia is a sunny country. The sun shines for about 2500 hours a year and the average temperature in summer is 23 ° C. There are two climate zones in Croatia; in the interior a continental climate predominates, partly also mountain climate. Inland, winters are harsh and wet and summers hot and dry. July 2021
Koversada, a holiday with obstacles.

Just returned after a 14 day stay in an apartment on Koversada, we look back on a very successful holiday with great pleasure. Last year when we were on our way to Koversada, Croatia jumped from yellow to orange. We then decided to abort the trip, we have both worked in healthcare and with this background we think it is important to follow the corona measures. Internatuur and Koversada then extended our booking for a year under the same conditions. This year we were really looking forward to the trip, but a few days before departure my friend broke her wrist. Put in a cast, another check after a few days, all in all we could say it a day later, we thought. Unfortunately, the checkup revealed that the fracture had slipped and required surgery. Road vacation. It was too late to cancel. Called Internatuur and they thought along. Finally decided on the following, I would, it said a day later, just travel and my girlfriend would come by plane after the operation. She was operated on a few days later and after a day of rest via Amsterdam and Copenhagen flew with the SAS to Pula where I picked her up. That way she could still enjoy the holiday. Internatuur arranged that, because I arrived a day later, we could stay a day longer than planned with the exchanges closed. We ourselves have booked an extra day there. After a rescued and delicious holiday, we returned by car on Saturday 17 July. The fact that it took us six hours to cross the Croatian Slovenian border did not spoil our mood with all the good memories. We have now decided that we will go to Koversada again next year and again via Internatuur.
