This is a naturist campsite run by the Dutch couple Jeff & Laura. It is a naturist campsite in nature where you can relax. Hibernators can also be found here in winter because of the mild climate. The nearest nudist beach is less than 1 hour away.

Casa Aguia / approx. 55 m² / 1-4 persons
Casa Águia, which means eagle, is centrally located on the campsite. The view is beautiful and extensive over the Alentejan landscape. With its 55 m2 and its many terraces, this casa is one of the largest they have. It has a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and terrace. Ideal for a family with children.
Lodge Coruja / approx. 55 m² / 2-6 persons
The lodge Coruja, which means owl, is located on the edge of the campsite. The view is beautiful and extensive over the Alentejan landscape. With its 55m2 and 22m2 of terrace size, this lodge is one of the largest they have. It has a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and terrace. Ideal for a family with children.
Lodge Cuco / approximately 36 m² / 1-4 people
The lodge Cuco is named after the idiosyncratic bird the Cuckoo. The lodge is located on the edge of the campsite. The view is beautiful and extensive over the Alentejan landscape. It is 36 m2 and has a nice terrace of about 20 m2.
Lodge Pica Pau / approximately 25 m² / 1-2 persons
Pica Pau means Woodpecker in Portuguese. This lodge is located on the edge of the campsite. The view is beautiful and extensive over the Alentejan landscape. It is 25 m2 and has a terrace of 10 m2.
Shepherd’s hut Pastor and Rafeiro / approximately 22 m² / 1-2 people
The shepherd’s Pastor is for 1 or 2 people. It has a bedroom, covered outdoor kitchen, WC and shower. This cottage is inspired by the Alentejan herders and their characteristic sheepdog (Rafeiro) who roam through meadows and fields with their goats, sheep or cows and spend the night in their hiker’s huts.
Shepherd’s hut Podengo / approximately 22 m² / 1-2 persons
The shepherd’s hut Podengo is for 1 or 2 people. It has a bedroom, covered outdoor kitchen, WC and shower. This wooden cottage is inspired by the Alentejan shepherds who, with their faithful dogs and with their goats, sheep and cows, wander through meadows and fields and spend the night in their shepherd’s huts.

By car:
Monte Naturista O Barao is approximately 2267 km from Utrecht.
A car (or rental car) is a good way to travel around Portugal and useful if you want to visit slightly remote places. The roads in Portugal are of good quality. On the highways it is regularly indicated where the nearest petrol stations / restaurant, picnic areas are. Please note that you have to pay toll on the French, Spanish and Portuguese highways if you go with your own car. You can pay by credit card or cash at the toll gates.
Furthermore, you must be in possession of International Insurance Certificates or the green card if you are going with your own car.
A Dutch driving license is sufficient, so an international driving license is not necessary.
With the plane:
About 3 hours to Faro or Lisbon. We mediate for Transavia from Brussels, Belgium and several airports in the Netherlands.

Portugal is a popular holiday destination for the Dutch, but not much is possible in terms of naturism. Monte Naturista O Barao is located in the southern Alentejo province of Portugal. The landscape of the Alentejo is very varied. The Atlantic Ocean is approximately a 30-minute drive away. We have visited Praia do Salto, a very beautiful nudist beach, which was about a 45 minute drive.
It is 1 hour earlier in Portugal than in the Netherlands.
Portuguese cuisine:
Portuguese cuisine is somewhat similar to Spanish cuisine. The most famous sweet dish from Portugal is Pastel de Belém, this is a kind of pastry with pudding and you really have to try it! Many fish and shellfish can be found in Portuguese cuisine.
Language:
The vast majority of the population speaks Portuguese, including several dialects. Portuguese is a Roman world language and outside of Portugal it is also spoken in Brazil, Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tomé and Principe, East Timor, Cape Verde, Mozambique, and other areas such as Goa and Malacca (Cristao). It is also spoken by a minority in Macau, where it is an official language.

Portugal is part of the European Union and you can also pay here with the Euro.

Climate:
Into the summers Alentejo are hot and dry, while winters are wet but mild. Spring and autumn are rather pleasant, with moderate temperatures. It climate is nowhere else in Portugal as warm as in Alentejo . … However, the temperatures can rise much further, to more than 35 ° C.
