Origan Village is located in high Provence just 2 kilometers from Puget-Theniers, a typical southern French village. It is in the middle of the mountains and yet only 30 km as the crow flies from the sea.
The grounds of Origan Village are 35 acres is located on the Var River. You can take beautiful, naturist walks as high as 1000 meters on the trails of Orgian Village. At this terraced campsite you will find 2 swimming pools with a slide and terrace for sunbathing. At the little river you can cool off and at the restaurant and bar you can enjoy a snack and a drink. In high season there is entertainment, such as music nights. Your children certainly don’t have to get bored either! They can have fun in the kids’ club, a playground and the children’s pool with a slide. In short. a great vacation for young and old at Origan Village!
Origan Village is terraced at the foot of a steep wall and overlooks the Var River. Origan also offers many opportunities for excursions.
Mobilhomes:
De verschillende mobilhomes zijn voor 1-4 personen. These are equipped with a living room with a fully equipped kitchen for the number of people that can use it. There are hot plates (gas or electricity), refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and some have an extractor hood. Dining table with chairs and TV in the living room. The mobile homes have 2 bedrooms with French beds; a double bed 140×200 and 2 x single beds of 80×190 cm. In the Cottage Suite Provence, the double bed is 160×200 cm. The bathrooms have a shower and sink and toilet or there is a separate toilet. They all have a terrace, some wooden and/or covered (Suite Provence), with sunbeds and garden furniture. The Cottage Suite Provence also has air conditioning.
Chalets:
The various chalets are for 2-5 people. These are equipped with a living room with a fully equipped kitchen for the number of people that can use it. There are hot plates (gas or electric), refrigerator, microwave (often), coffee maker and some have an extractor. They all have a TV in the living room. Bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Chalet Cigale has a separate toilet and also air conditioning. There are 2 bedrooms 1 with double bed 140×200 cm and 1 with 2 x single bed. Chalet Luciole has 3 beds in the 2nd bedroom. They all have a terrace, some of them covered.
Mini-Villa Romana:
Detached cottage with Italian names, such as Venezia, Firenze, Napoli, Verona and Bolzano. Italy and Provence meet here in the cottages with rounded roof tiles. Living room with sitting area and TV, mezzanine with 2 twin beds, living/bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower with water jet massage or with Jacuzzi and toilet. Outside covered terrace with fully equipped kitchen that includes a large fridge freezer, microwave and coffee maker. Outdoor terrace of about 20 m² with mood lighting and 2 sunbeds.
Chalet VIP Papillon:
Chalet in pine located in a pine forest. Living room with sofa, flat screen TV (FR, B, NL, D, GB, I), 1 room with large bed 160 x 200 cm and 1 room with 2 x single bed, bathroom with shower, separate wc, a kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, electric coffee maker, microwave, covered terrace,garden chairs and table and modern sun loungers, terrace 9 m2.

Origan Village is about 1250 km away from Utrecht.
A car is a good way to travel around France and useful if you want to visit slightly remote places. The roads in France are of good quality. On the highways it is regularly indicated where the nearest petrol stations / restaurant, picnic areas are. Please note that you have to pay toll on the French motorways. You can pay by credit card or cash at the toll gates. Furthermore, you must be in possession of International Insurance Certificates or the green card if you are going with your own car. In France it is mandatory to have an alcohol tester in the car. A Dutch driving license is sufficient, so an international driving license is not necessary.
By bus:
You can also choose to take the bus. This goes through the Eurolines bus company. You then board at the nearest departure stop / meeting point. From here you will go directly to the Nice destination and there you need to take a rental car, cab or bus or train to your final destination.
By plane:
There are options to fly to Nice from Amsterdam or Düsseldorf, which is about a 2-hour flight.
Due to the distances to the accommodations, we recommend that you take a rental car. We mediate for Flexible Cars and Sunny Cars.

Visit the medieval town of Entreveaux or the Gorges de Daluis with its red rock walls and canyons. The cities of Nice, Monaco and the perfume city of Grasse are within driving distance of Origan and are also well worth a visit!
Language :
The official language in France is French. Each region speaks its own dialect. In the tourist area you can go as a tourist with English.
Currency:
Just like in the Netherlands, people in France pay with the Euro. You can go to most banks with credit cards and Traveler’s checks. With a Dutch bank or giro debit card which has a maestro or cirrus sign, you can go to the ATMs. American Express, Diners Club, Via, Master and Eurocard passes are accepted in almost all restaurants, shops and petrol stations.
Climate:
Located in the south of France, Provence has a subtropical climate. In May, it smells deliciously of lavender because spring comes early in Provence. In summer, the temperature can rise quite a bit, up to 30 degrees. In winter, temperatures rarely fall below freezing. Typical of Provence, the wind is the Mistral. This cold wind comes suddenly from the Massif Central. In winter the wind is inclement and in summer it is a pleasant coolness….
On Sept. 20, 2022, we received the following review about Origan Village:
We stayed at Village l’Origan from September 5 to 19 . We had booked a Cottage Luxe Provence (mobile home 28 square meters) + terrace of 15 square meters, which was half covered. Very convenient to have the choice of sun or shade. We had cottage, sunny location with very nice mountain view.
The campground itself has a good size. Not overcrowded in terms of accommodations. Many hiking opportunities on the asphalt trails that can be quite steep. What is nice , is that if you feel the need for it even in September some activities are organized and also in September the campground is very well filled especially in terms of rentals. The camp store has a very limited supply, but in Puget Theniers there is a Carrefour Market .
We made the trip by train as far as Puget Theniers. On arrival and departure you can be picked up. For trips in between you will have to walk to village or station (50 minutes, descending on departure, so ascending on return) . Good and safe to do. The paths at the campsite are the steepest. You can visit this campground without a car . Several excursions are possible by foot and train. Recommendations are Entrevaux, Nice and St Andre des Alpes. Tip: buy for 15 euros a discount card of 50% ….this applies to several people….
For those who need it…there is a receptionist and an employee in the restaurant who speak Dutch….
