Only 13 km from Poreč is Solaris, a renovated naturist site on the edge of the wooded peninsula, ‘Lanterna’.
Discover your favorite spot on the 2.5 km-long Solaris beach. Enjoy the warm rays of the sun, the fresh turquoise sea water and the soothing sea views. Rent a deck chair and make yourself comfortable under an umbrella on the paved or pebbled beach of Sidro Beach or the Galeb Beach. If you enjoy being in touch with unspoiled nature, there are secluded natural beaches in the western part of the property with thick shade under oak trees.
Those who prefer to stay by the pool can enjoy the sea view from the terrace of the outdoor pool. If you feel like some extra services, you can visit the sports center or play beach volleyball. Refreshing drinks and tasty snacks are available at the Sidro bar and poolside restaurant. Nearby you will find several picturesque villages such as Tar, which is known for its olive oil and Vibraga, which is a well-known fishing village.

Croatia is located on the Adriatic Sea and borders Slovenia and Hungary to the north, Serbia and Montenegro to the east and Bosnia-Herzegovina to the south. Italy is located on the other side of the sea. The surface of Croatia is 56,542 km². This is about the same size as Belgium and the Netherlands combined.
Croatia has about 4.4 million inhabitants. The Croats are a very hospitable people. The modesty coupled with their great hospitality makes a tourist feel at home in this beautiful country. But besides being hospitable, friendly and helpful, Croats are above all a very proud people.
Poreč is a sight in itself with its cultural monuments. Large parts of this ancient city have remained intact over the centuries. This makes the Roman and Venetian buildings, including the Euphrasius Basilica, look authentic. Now it is a lively harbor town where many tourists, especially in high season, enjoy themselves with shops, water sports, restaurants and more.
In addition to Croatian, you can get along well with English, German or Italian in the tourist areas. Along the coast, a dialect similar to Venetian is spoken. Croatian language belongs to Slavic language family.
The official currency of Croatia is the kuna (kuna = 100 lipas). Most stores also accept euros. From Jan. 1, 2023, the euro will be introduced in Croatia and you can simply pay with euros everywhere.
Foreign currency can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, post offices and most travel agencies, hotels and campgrounds.
In larger towns you can go almost everywhere with Traveler Checks and credit cards. You can also ‘pin’ in the larger places. Always have enough cash. In some areas, banks and post offices are scarce.
Croatia is a sunny country. The sun shines for about 2500 hours a year and the average temperature in summer is 23 ° C. There are two climate zones in Croatia; in the interior a continental climate predominates, partly also mountain climate. Inland, winters are harsh and wet and summers hot and dry. There is a lot of rain and snow in the mountains. The area along the Adriatic coast has a pleasant Mediterranean climate with many hours of sunshine, dry warm summers and mild wet winters.
