Port of Zadar

“Najlipši grad na svitu” (the most beautiful city in the world) – this is how the people of Zadar proudly call their city. The former capital of Dalmatia is located on a peninsula bordered by two rivers. The side overlooking the mainland is simply called “Riva” – this is where ferries and passenger ships dock, and this is where fishermen land their catch every morning. On the other side, overlooking the islands, is the “new” Riva – here you can stroll up and down, here lovers meet for a date, and since a few years you can listen to the melodies of the sea organs, which are unique in the world. Between these rivas lies one of Dalmatia’s most beautiful old towns, whose lifeline is the “Kalelarga” – the car-free main street with its boutiques and cafes. To her right and left – picturesque alleys in which the “Klapa” sings her songs out of sheer joy of life, and magnificent historic buildings such as the round church of Sveti Donat, the cathedral of Sveta Stošija, the Forum Romanum…

MS Kažimir
MS Kažimir is a 39-meter-long motor sailer built in 1946 and reconstructed in 2020. Up to 35 people can be on board in the 15 cabins. There are three decks where the cabins are located. There are seven cabins on the lower deck and eight 2-person cabins on the main deck. All cabins have their own shower/toilet and air conditioning that you can regulate yourself. There is limited space in a cabin, so we recommend that you bring a folding sports bag instead of a hard case.

From 29-06-2024 to 06-07-2024.

Saturday: Zadar island of Silba
Embarkation at Zadar port between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. If you are traveling to Zadar in your own car, you can drive to the port and directly to your ship from 8 a.m. to noon at the latest. Here you unload your luggage. The service team will help you bring your luggage on board, which will be left on deck initially until the cabins are ready around 11:30 a.m. Then take your car to a parking garage and return to the port on foot. After embarkation, our guide will greet you with a welcome drink and introduce you to the crew and fellow travelers. After a snack on board, we set sail for Silba Island.

Before reaching this enchanting little island, during a swimming break we have the opportunity to swim naked in the clear waters of the Adriatic sea for the first time. About 300 residents live on the car-free island of Silba, which is only about 15 km² in size. It takes only ten minutes to reach the other side of the island. For romantics, a visit to the Toreta Love Tower is worthwhile. It is a symbol of the sailor Petar’s unhappy love for his beloved Antonija, who could not wait for him as he sailed the world’s oceans. She then married his best friend and Petar built this tower of love. Those who climb the 15 meters on a dizzying outdoor spiral staircase are rewarded with stunning views. There have been many marriage proposals here. Dinner on board and overnight stay.

Sunday: Island Silba-Island Susak
We leave Silba and head first to a bay on the island of Lošinj for a swimming break, where lunch is also served. We then continue to Susak, an island only 3.7 km² small. Here you will find some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Croatia. A large, gently sloping sandy beach exudes a Caribbean feel and is ideal for swimming. Only 150 residents live there. The car-free island is very green as residents have planted reeds around the island. The roots of the reeds protect Susak from erosion. The quiet town, which is divided into the districts of Gornje Selo (upper village) and Donje Selo (lower village), takes you back in time with its old stone houses. When the day trippers leave the island in the evening, an idyllic silence falls. Dinner and overnight at the small port of Susak.

Monday: Island Susak-Island Silba-Island Rab
Today we have a four-hour sea voyage ahead of us – interrupted, of course, by an extended swim break. We set sail for the town of Rab, the capital of the island of the same name. Even from a distance you can see the four striking bell towers of the old city, which sits on a narrow, rocky headland and is surrounded on three sides by the sea. Three streets run through the old town: the “Upper Street” with cafes and pubs, the “Middle Street” with boutiques, souvenir stores and ice cream parlors, and the “Lower Street,” which leads to the four churches with their bell towers . Don’t miss the climb to the cathedral tower. You will be rewarded with fantastic views. Dinner on board and overnight in Rab harbor.

Tuesday: Island of Rab-Island of Pag
The next destination is the neighboring island of Pag. The fifth largest island in the Adriatic sea is particularly impressive for its contrasts: sometimes arid like a lunar landscape, sometimes lush green herbal meadows, which feed the countless sheep that “produce” the famous Pag sheep’s cheese (Paški Sir). Olive oil is produced from the thousand-year-old olive trees on the northern side of the island and the “Solana Pag” is the largest salt production facility in Croatia, which is also considered one of the oldest salt pans in the eastern Adriatic sea. After the usual swimming break, we headed to the small town of Mandre to spend the night. In good weather, you can also spend the night in a bay; The decision here lies with the captain.

Wednesday: Island of Pag-Island of Zverinac
After breakfast, we raise anchor and sail to a bay on Olib Island, where the turquoise sea looks almost like the Caribbean. In the afternoon we continue to the small island of Zverinac. Here you will find pure nature, as less than 50 inhabitants live on Zverinac, all of whom have the same surname Škifić. Dinner and overnight in the small port of Zverinac or in a secluded bay.

Thursday: Island of Zverinac Natural Park Telašćica
We leave Zverinac and head along the entire northeast coast of the island of Dugi Otok (“Long Island”) to the south side of the island, where we reach the Telašćica Nature Park via the very narrow Mala Proversa Passage. Telašćica is a protected bay cut about ten kilometers deep into the island of Dugi Otok. Notable features include steep cliffs up to 161 meters high and the saltwater lake Mir, which is connected to the sea through underground channels and has a high salt content. The lake and the impressive steep cliffs, from which you have fantastic views, are just a few minutes’ walk from the jetty in Mir Bay. The Captain’s Dinner is served in this unique atmosphere. Spend the night under the stars, which shine particularly beautifully here because we are in a natural park and there are no outside light influences.

Friday: Nature Park Telašćica – Zadar
After breakfast, we leave the nature park and head to a bay one last time for a long swim. We then pass under the Ždrelac Bridge, which connects the islands of Ugljan and Pašman, and then set course for Zadar. In Zadar, be sure to visit the Sea Organ, unique in the world. It is a “musical instrument” in the form of 35 tubes built under large stone slabs. The undulations create sounds that create a relaxing melody. Countless people who have witnessed the sunset with the melodies of the sea organ here call it one of the most romantic places in the world. It will not come as a surprise that countless marriage proposals are made here. Next door is the installation “Greetings to the Sun.” By day an unspectacular 22-meter-diameter plate of glass, by night a colorful, moving sea of colors that lights up not only children’s eyes. The glass panels contain solar cells that are charged by the sun during the day. Small colored lights illuminate “Greetings to the Sun” as darkness falls. There are other smaller sheets of glass everywhere that are supposed to represent the eight planets. Of course, historical buildings such as the round church of Sveti Donat are also impressive. If you want to enjoy a fantastic view of the city and the islands off the coast, you should also climb the church tower here. The Sveta Stošija Cathedral or the Roman Forum will delight many culture lovers. Zadar is not only called “Najlipši grad na svitu” (the most beautiful city in the world) by its inhabitants. Many tourists have also fallen in love with this beautiful old city. After a guided tour of the city, you will have plenty of time to explore the old city on your own.
