Quinta do Maral
Quinta do Maral is located in the province of Alentejo, 2.5 hours’ drive from Lisbon airport, close to the Spanish border.
This is a naturist campsite run by the Portuguese couple Paula and Nuno. It is a naturist campsite in nature where you can relax. Hibernators can also be found here in winter because of the mild climate. The nearest nudist beach is less than 1 hour away. You can see Spain from the campsite.
Apartment Cantinho das Oliveiras / 1-4 people
This apartment is located at the beginning of the campsite in the main house. There is a bedroom with a double bed, living room with sofa bed, dining table with 4 chairs and Portuguese TV. There is an open kitchen with fridge, oven, stove, freezer, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The apartment has a terrace in front and behind to relax.
Apartment Home Sweet Home / 1-2 persons
This apartment is also in the main house and is part of the owners house. They want you to feel at home. This apartment has a bedroom with a double bed, living room with TV (Portuguese). There is an open kitchen with fridge freezer, oven, hob, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink.
Studio Refúgio / 1-2 people
This studio is located at the pool, you open the door and can dive into the pool. It is a 1-room apartment with a double bed and a small kitchenette. This used to be the pool bar. In the kitchen corner is a fridge with freezer, induction hob, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. There is no bathroom, you can use the camping sanitary facilities, only 100 meters away. There is, however, a so-called Potti-potti (a chemical toilet), so that you do not have to walk across the campsite at night to go to the toilet.
Camping Pod / 1-4 people
The Camping Pod is a wooden house on the campsite that looks a lot like Glamping. If you like camping, but don’t feel like bringing your own caravan, then this is for you. We thought it was a very charming accommodation, simple, but equipped with everything. There is a double bed and a sofa bed, so it is suitable for a family with small children who otherwise sleep together in a caravan. However, the indoor space is very small. There is also a Potti-potti here, because it has no bathroom, you can use the camping sanitary facilities about 100 meters away. There is a mini fridge, coffee maker, kettle and toaster and an induction hob for outdoor cooking. Outside is also a washbasin with cold running water. There is a wooden terrace with sitting area and also covered as protection from the sun.

In the bar it is possible to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, but this must be requested in advance and is not possible every day. You can get snacks here, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the sun or in the cool of the shade, or enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner. There is free wifi, a library and a cozy bar.
By car:
Quinta do Maral is approximately 2052 km from Utrecht.
A car (or rental car) is a good way to travel around Portugal and useful if you want to visit slightly remote places. The roads in Portugal are of good quality. On the highways it is regularly indicated where the nearest petrol stations / restaurant, picnic areas are. Please note that you have to pay toll on the French, Spanish and Portuguese highways if you go with your own car. You can pay by credit card or cash at the toll gates.
Furthermore, you must be in possession of International Insurance Certificates or the green card if you are going with your own car.
A Dutch driving license is sufficient, so an international driving license is not necessary.

About 3 hours to Lisbon. We mediate for Transavia from Amsterdam Schiphol, Rotterdam/The Hague and Eindhoven Airport.
We recommend renting a car to see more of the area. If you want to go to the beach, you definitely need a rental car.

Portugal is a popular holiday destination for the Dutch, but not much is possible in terms of naturism. Quinta do Maral is located in the southern Alentejo province of Portugal. The landscape of the Alentejo is very varied. The Atlantic Ocean is approximately 60 minutes’ drive.
It is 1 hour earlier in Portugal than in the Netherlands.
Portuguese cuisine:
Portuguese cuisine is somewhat similar to Spanish cuisine. The most famous sweet dish from Portugal is Pastel de Belém, this is a kind of pastry with pudding and you really have to try it! Many fish and shellfish can be found in Portuguese cuisine.
Language:
The vast majority of the population speaks Portuguese, including several dialects. Portuguese is a Roman world language and outside of Portugal it is also spoken in Brazil, Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tomé and Principe, East Timor, Cape Verde, Mozambique, and other areas such as Goa and Malacca (Cristao). It is also spoken by a minority in Macau, where it is an official language.

Portugal is part of the European Union and you can also pay here with the Euro.
Almost all cards for debit cards are accepted. Credit cards are also accepted.
Climate:
Into the summers Alentejo are hot and dry, while winters are wet but mild. Spring and autumn are rather pleasant, with moderate temperatures. It climate is nowhere else in Portugal as warm as in Alentejo . … However, the temperatures can rise much further, to more than 35 ° C.
