Le Colombier is a 4-star naturist campsite in the south of the Vendée, France. It is a beautiful campground run by a French family from Paris. The Vendée is known for its many hours of sunshine a day and beautiful beaches. Le Colombier is best described as a quiet family campsite and is located on an approximately 50ha domain. The site consists of a valley with a stream, a lake, old hedges and meadows with lush flora, surrounded by 14 ha of forest. The central part of the site is a medieval manor farm with a tower and barns.
Le Colombier is known for its space, freedom, good and clean sanitary facilities and of course the cozy get-together in the bar and restaurant. In addition to the regular activities, such as baking sandwiches and pizzas, jeu de boules tournaments, guests have the option of organizing something themselves.
Le Colombier offers you 176 spacious camping pitches, suitable for a tent, caravan or camper. You will find electricity and water connections a short distance from your site. You can also rent a furnished 4-person tent or a 2- or a 4-person mobile home from us. It is not allowed to smoke in the houses.

Car:
Le Colombier is approximately 909 km from Utrecht.
A car (or rental car) is a good way to travel around France and useful if you want to visit slightly remote places. The roads in France are of good quality. On the highways it is regularly indicated where the nearest petrol stations / restaurant, picnic areas are. Keep in mind that you have to pay toll on the French motorways. You can pay by credit card or cash at the toll gates.
You also need to be in possession of International Insurance Certificates or the green card if you are going with your own car. In France it is mandatory to have an alcohol tester in the car.
A Dutch driving license is sufficient, so an international driving license is not necessary.
It is of course always possible to go to Le Colombier with your own transport.
Language:
The official language in France is French. Each region speaks its own dialect. In the tourist area you can go as a tourist with English.
Currency:
Just like in the Netherlands, people in France pay with the Euro. You can go to most banks with credit cards and Traveler’s checks. With a Dutch bank or giro debit card which has a maestro or cirrus sign, you can go to the ATMs. American Express, Diners Club, Visa, Master and Eurocard cards are accepted in almost all restaurants, shops and petrol stations.
Climate:
The summer climate in the Vendée is a moderate maritime climate: lots of sun, nice and warm and little rain. Winters are often shorter than in the Netherlands, but it can freeze and occasionally snow can be found.
